Why hardware lists fail before cabinets arrive

Modular kitchen projects stall when plywood and carcasses arrive on site but hinges, soft-close drawers, or tall-unit fittings are incomplete or mismatched. Aligning hardware SKUs with the cut-list early protects your handover date — whether you are a homeowner coordinating a carpenter or a contractor running multiple flats.

Shutters and doors

Count every shutter: base, wall, tall, and appliance panels. Note overlay type, soft-close preference, and whether lift-up stay systems replace standard hinges on overhead cabinets. Include vanity and utility area shutters if they share the same hardware family for a consistent feel.

Drawers and internal accessories

Carcass material and structural fittings

Plywood grade, thickness, and water-resistance level affect screw holding and long-term screw-out risk for hinges and slides. Confirm carcass thickness before ordering mounting plates. For beds and study modules in the same project, schedule separate desk and bed fittings so kitchen hardware is not used in the wrong context.
